Sprint Duathlon
Join us for our 2nd annual LCA Sprint Duathlon

Time Gun Start: Each participant will start together. You will come to the Start Line and you will be told to "Go" by the Timer.
Event: A flat and fast course with hydration stations. Participants are treated to an epic finish line and post race, complete with professional announcing, live music, food, beverages and age group awards given to top 3 in 10 year age groups throughout and top 3 for relay team: female, male, and coed.
RUN 1.5 --- BIKE 10 miles -----RUN 1.5
The run will consist of 1.5 mile. It starts at the Recreational Hall inside the Lake Casa Blanca State Park. Runners head for a 0.75 mile out and back course inside the park premises . This completes the first running portion of race 1.5 mile. Participants then transition by the recreational hall on the designated area of the park onto the bike portion of the race.
The bike portion of the race route is as follows:
Head west and then turn left inside Lake Casa State Park at stop sign. Ride straight on State Senator Judith Zaffirini Road. Turn right on Camp Huisache road. Left on Hwy 59/Saunders road. Cyclists then stay on Hwy 59/Saunders east bound until they reach turn around(approximate 3miles). Cyclists then loop left at turn around and begin heading back west on Hwy 59. Turn right at Hwy 59/Saunders Road to Camp Huisache road. Cyclist then turn left at Camp Huisache gate. Head west on State Senator Judith Zaffirini Road. Cyclist turn right on lake road towards Recreational Hall. Cyclists will complete this course out and back course for a total of 10 miles. Cyclists then transition into the running portion and run the 1.5 mile course again.

Packet Pickup:
Packet pickup Saturday from 1pm to 6pm at Probike. Ankle bracelets for timing will be issued Sunday morning..

7:45 Pre-Race Meeting.
8:00 Race Starts.
9:30 Awards.
Awards: (All Awards are based on Chip Time)
The group awards given to top 3 in 10 year age groups throughout and top 3 for relay team: female, male, and coed.
Age Groups: (Age is based on Event Date)
(19 and Under), (20 to 29), (30 to 39), (40 to 49), (50 to 59), (60 and Over)
Shirts:
All proceeds benefit the Laredo High School Mountain Bike Team and the first 50 paid entries will receive a T-shirt and a goody bag. Shirt size is not guaranteed but we will do our very best to obtain your desired shirt size.

Timing: Swift Timing will provide timing services for the Biathlon. Swift Timing uses only true State-of-the-Art equipment. You will be issued a ankle bracelet with a patented timing chip attached. After the event, you will be asked to turn in your ankle bracelet.
